Description
RHEEBOK BRICK is the largest clay brick manufacturer between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. It is situated at Great Brak River between Mossel Bay and George, on the garden route and has been in business for over 40 years. Rheebok Brick produce more than 4 million bricks per month and currently 171 people are employed. The plant is a clamp kiln operation and clay is mined on the premises with clay reserves in excess of 30 years. Rheebok Brick is the sole distributor for quality face bricks, manufactured by African Brick in Gauteng.
Rheebok Bricks plant is well equipped and use modern equipment operated by well trained and motivated employees to manufacture quality products.
Rheebok Bricks produce approximately 4 million bricks per month. We produce mainly plaster bricks but also three types of face bricks. To enhance the choice of face bricks we entered into an agreement with African Brick situated in Gauteng and are the sole suppliers of their face bricks in this area.
Delivery of products to clients is undertaken by Rheebok Bricks themselves with a well-maintained fleet of trucks. Our delivery area is mainly the coastal area from Plettenberg Bay to Stilbaai
The factory has 171 employees and also caters for the families of some 60 of the employees by providing family accommodation to them. A playground for the children is provided and schooling facilities are in close proximity. Labour turnover is low which leads to loyal and experienced employees providing high quality products. Continues training of employees takes place and high quality artisans, truck drivers and machine operators have been produced.
We subscribe to the Government Mining Charter and adhere to all its requirements. This entails involvement in the local community and we are participating in projects situated in Mosselbay.
We are a member of the Clay Brick Association and a member of the Master Builders Association adhearing to their high standarts. We produce bricks in compliance with the prescribed South African Bureau of Standards (SABS 227-1986).
